Stephen K. Andrews

Senior Parter, Attorney at Law

Steve received his university education at Indiana University, Bloomington and then attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago, graduating in 1975. That same year Steve was admitted into practice in Indiana and is a member in good standing of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Hamilton County Bar Association, and the United States Supreme Court Bar. Steve is also a member of the Indiana Creditors Bar Association, Commercial Law League of America, National Association of Retail Collections Attorneys and American Collections Association – Member Attorney division.

Steve began his law career in 1975 in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, rising to the position of Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. In 1980 he left the Prosecutor’s office and along with Marc A. Bleecker and Ronald B. Brodey, founded the law firm of Bleecker Brodey & Andrews.  In 1981 he served, in a part-time capacity, as the City of Carmel Zoning Attorney and in 1984 as the City Attorney.

Since 1991, Steve’s area of practice has been concentrated in collections and creditors’ rights, including representing creditors only in bankruptcy. He speaks frequently on creditor’s rights topics at continuing legal education seminars. Steve is a founding member of the Indiana Creditor Bar Association, an organization that provides a venue for creditor’s rights attorneys to keep abreast of new laws, statutes and issues affecting creditors’ rights and the law.

When not at the office, Steve enjoys traveling, boating, and attending Scottish Highland Games. He is married with three adult children one of whom is a member of the law firm.
